When my mom discussed with us what she wanted for when she finally passed on, she requested we celebrate her life, and not have a mournful time where everyone is crying. We said, “Yeah right, like people won’t be balling their eyes out, but we will do our best.”
The following events are planned to memorialize our mother, Elizabeth Anne Madden’s, life. All hours listed are Eastern Time.

Please wear something SNAZZY and JOYFUL and not mourning black. This is what Betty’s wished for, for this occasion.

Dinner and Gathering

- Saturday, March 14, after the Celebration of Life Ceremony ends, 4pm (or thereabouts) to when they kick us out
- River Falls Restaurant, Riverview Room, 74 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895
- Free parking available in the municipal lot across the street, the spots around the building, the spots along the streets, and spots at the back of the mill complex
Funeral and Interment of Ashes
A funeral mass and a ceremony to inter Betty’s ashes will occur at a date to be determined, this coming Summer 2026.
The funeral will be at Betty’s Episcopalian church in Providence, the Church of the Redeemer.
Her ashes will be interred with her husband’s ashes, our father Jim’s niche, in the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
We will update friends and family with funeral and interment ceremony details in later in the year.
